Description
Overlooking the Creuse valley, at the borders of Touraine, Indre and Vienne, is nested this very attractive manor which the earliest written records date back to 1469. Set in 1.22 hectare of grounds, the house is in need of a complete restoration. Authentic features were preserved, as 17th C. fireplaces, stone staircases, a vaulted cellar...
Once through the entrance porch, you come in a large front courtyard at the end of which is the manor flanked by a staircase tower with 80 cm thickness walls and its beautiful door with ogee motifs. The building is much more ancient. Its walls are 1.50 m thick.
On ground floor, the 7 sq. mt. entrance opens on one side on a magnificent stone staircase leading to a 26 sq. mt. vaulted cellar, and on the other side on the 38 sq. mt. kitchen. With two doors leading outside and two windows, this room offers a very rustic 17th C. fireplace, a recess with stone sink and two racks, with a height of 2.70 metres, a terracotta and stone floor.
From outside, you also access to a large vaulted cellar with stone slabs floor. In total, there are three cellars.
The first floor rooms are served by an inner staircase in the tower or by an impressive outdoor staircase. On the landing, you find two twin doors. One to get in a 45 sq. mt. living room of 3 metres high, with its 17th C. fireplace. This room also opens on two bedrooms of 18 and 21 sq. mt., a cupboard, a 5 sq. mt. shower room and separate toilet. The other twin door, at the end of the corridor, opens on a 50 sq. mt. living room with an original fireplace displaying a button on which must have been painted coats of arms.
You can access to the second floor by a wooden staircase where you will find two attics with roofing framework rafters, cursorily repaired on the 17th C. The first one offers a surface of 119 sq. mt., and the other one about 45 sq. mt. with a window.
The property is in need of a full restoration. The roof must be refurbished, there is no heating system, and wooden windows are simple glazed. However, the building is connected to mains drains.
Benefitting from a very calm and green countryside setting, in the 'Pays des Mille Etangs' ('Thousand lakes land'), this property will be delightful with nature and heritage lovers.
