Description
Overlooking the village, this 13th century castle/manor house, built around its main tower housing a magnificent 49-step stone staircase serving all levels, is revealed room by room: rooms with sometimes stone slabs, sometimes parquet flooring, ceilings sometimes made of stone, vaulted, sometimes "French" style, small doors opening onto spiral stone staircases leading to the attic, or into a dovecote... enough to get lost in!!! Approx. 300m² of living space is divided into two large rooms (55.50m² and 58.40m²), each with a majestic stone fireplace, a kitchen of 23.50m², and three bedrooms (28.31m², 20.10m² and 25.30m²) and another large room of 55.90m² to renovate (as well as the large vaulted room on the ground floor). There remains a room of 29m² (most certainly an old kitchen with its scullery), now transformed into a boiler room, to be renovated if necessary. Here and there, in towers, we find a bathroom, old "latrines" (the latter to avoid using ... especially if someone is below on the land !!!), a dovecote, small doors opening onto other small, very narrow, winding stone staircases, leaving just a shoulder-width passage ... mysterious !!! ... The plots of land around represent 4,758m² (part of which is in a "U" zone), including the courtyard, surrounded by stone walls overlooking the village. At the foot of the large retaining wall of the courtyard, a 130m² garden accessible by a staircase, is sheltered from the north wind, thus taking full advantage of the heat of the sun. The old clock, on the façade, still has its weight mechanism, placed in the attic: thus, in the past, it allowed the whole village to have the time, at a glance: it should be noted that this building, in a distant time, housed "school and town hall". Built eight centuries ago, this building still sits proudly on its promontory, as if it had given itself, "for life", the responsibility of monitoring and protecting the village at its feet!!!!
