Between Agen and Bergerac, in Lot-et-Garonne, the village of Monflanquin, which is part of the association of the most beautiful villages in France, is a fortified town created in 1256 by Alphonse de Poitiers. It lies on the border between Périgord and Quercy. It was built on a hill. Common to all bastides, it was created between the Albigensian Crusade and the Hundred Years' War and has a square lined with arcades. This castle was built in the 17th century. In 1577, the castle became the property of the Dordaygne family, who had the castle built at the beginning of the 17th century while having the old military installation razed to the ground.
