The farm inn is a restaurant within a farm.
To benefit from the farm inn designation, it is necessary to respect the terms of the farm inn charter, adopted in 1976 by Agriculture and Tourism, a joint association of professional agricultural organisations. The charter emphasises the family character, the simple and natural welcome, the use of farm products and local products and specialities, all of which help guests to distinguish farm inns from professional restaurants.
The farmhouse inn may or may not include an accommodation activity or be limited to meals. The farm hostel can be an extension of the activity of several farms if each of the farmers or members of their families actively participate in its life. It should also be noted that farm hostels must have the farm as their main support and use mainly the products of the farm
